It's obvious to anyone that's a member, but seeing InterNACHI and their staff run an event in person was impressive. From the way the employees treated home inspectors and vendors, to the delicious food, to the way Nick and Ben make themselves accessible, the culture at InterNACHI is clear - they are all about providing the most value possible for everyone associated with their organization. I knew this and have read about it, but to see it in action was fun.
You can tell from seeing their staff interact that they treat their people well. They provide top-notch service and do it with a genuine smile. That says a lot about a company and the people that make it go.
Something everyone should make a point to see once.
John Gillam is a great speaker/trainer/broker with Century 21 that spoke on both days of the Summit. He is very engaging and gave all home inspectors there some valuable information on connecting with agents and understanding their perspective on real estate transactions. Having been an agent, I related to much of what he had to say.
He's humble, personable and knows the history of this industry better than anyone. I can see where ISN's culture of helpfulness and humility come from.
I got a copy of his book Find Your Everest. I'm personally a fan of goal setting and existential thinking, so I'm excited to read it.
Our table was next to Rob Claus of BrickKicker. Great guy. They're doing well and we hope to work with them in the future.
Some think it's easy money and won't last. Some are very business and tech-savvy. This may cause established inspectors to up their game and continue to find ways to add value.
Half of our conversations were about local SEO, content marketing and focusing on the strategies that actually impact rankings and traffic. There are just so many misperceptions about the state of SEO and what home inspectors need to be focusing on.
